Chevelle Rock Myrtle Beach

Chevelle rocked the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach last night, March 15th, with openers Eve to Adam.
To kick off the show, New York City natives Eve to Adam took the stage and got the crowd up and rowdy. Eve to Adam is Take Sassaris on lead vocals, Alex Sassaris on drums/backing vocals, Guarav Bali on guitar/backing vocals, Luis Espaillat on bass, and Adam Latiff from Puddle of Mudd stepping in as the touring rhythm guitarist. From the very beginning the band came out swinging gracing the audience with their energy. They showcased songs from their past albums, such as single “Run Your Mouth,” as well as some songs from their upcoming album, including “Straitjacket Supermodel” and the album titled track “Locked & Loaded.” They demonstrated their support for the United States military dedicating one of their songs to the men and women of the military, as well as their families. The new single “Straitjacket Supermodel” will be released to download on iTunes March 26th and you can find the new album Locked & Loaded in stores May 26th. If these guys are passing through a city near you it will certainly be worth your while to check them out.

A few short minutes later, the trio from Chicago took the stage. From the very first note, it was obvious that the crowd was there to see Chevelle. Lead vocalist/guitarist Pete Loeffler, bassist/backing vocalist Dean Bernardini, and drummer Sam Loeffler kicked off their set with their newest single “Same Old Trip” from their most recent full-length album Hats off to the Bull and continued playing many of their famous hits including, “Hats off to the Bull,” “Jars,” “Vitamin R,” “Well Enough Alone,” “The Clincher,”  among others. They took the crowd back a couple years with the song “Forfeit” which was well received based on the fans screaming the lyrics back to the band.

Throughout the set the brothers shared words with the crowd and made fun of themselves, showing how laid back they were. Chevelle is a band that is very much about their fans and this was clearly demonstrated during their performance of “I Get It.” Before starting the song, Pete called up two fans from the crowd to come up and sing the song. Pete and Dean stepped away from their microphones and gave over control to the fans, giving them an opportunity to sing and perform on stage with one of their favorite bands; an experience they surely will never forget. The band also recognized a super fan in the crowd, calling him out by name and sharing their gratitude for having fans that are as dedicated as him. The band finished their hour and fifteen minute set with an encore performance of “The Red” and “Face to the Floor” leaving on a high note and with the audience’s ears ringing in the aftermath.

Chevelle recently released a compilation of band favorites called Stray Arrows: A Collection of Favorites featuring a previously unreleased song called “Fizgig.” The band will be doing a few more shows in March and some dates are posted for May and July. Keep an eye out for more tour dates from these guys and be sure to mark your calendars when they come to a city near you so you won’t miss out on an awesome show!
