Otherwise Surprise NYC with Last Minute Acoustic Show

 On Tuesday evening Las Vegas rockers Otherwise surprised their fans, announcing a last minute acoustic show in New York City the following night. The intimate venue and unplugged set was a compete 180 from the full electric festivals and huge tours the guys have been rocking lately, and those lucky enough to catch the rare event loved every second of it.

Otherwise started up their set with a few high energy tracks from their album True Love Never Dies, including  "Lighthouse" and "Vegas Girl."  Bassist Vassilios Metropoulos and guitarists Ryan Patrick and Andy Pugh looked as though they were itching to leap out of their chairs on the heavier songs, during which we usually see them running across the stage and constantly jumping (impressively high) in the air.

After kicking things off with some heavier tracks they slowed things down a bit to play "Heaven" and "I Don't Apologize (1,000 Pictures)." Singer Adrian Patrick's vocals truly shone through more than ever with each of the tracks stripped down to their barest form. The relaxed vibe in Tammany Hall gave the feeling that we were hanging out in someone's living room with old friends, with Patrick talking and joking with the crowd in between songs throughout the entire night. 

Adding further to the already unique show, Otherwise played not often heard older tracks "Shapes of Metal" and "I Am Spartacus" as well as a cover of Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell." To finish off the night they closed with their hit "Soldiers," during which Patrick jumped off the stage and into the crowd to get everyone singing along.

You may not leave an acoustic Otherwise show with the same adrenaline rush as at their unbelievably energetic live show, but it is most definitely a night you won't soon forget and worth checking out the next time they decide to break things down for an acoustic set.
